Bluetooth: A wireless technology for exchanging data over short distances and uses radio frequencies to transmit data. Data transfer rate 800 kb/s. very secure short range network.


 
SMS= short message service: text messages that can be sent to mobile phones via the internet or from other mobile devices. 160 characters per message and long range data transfer.    




GPRS general packet radio service: Send and receive multimedia content. It can also be used to speed up SMS and the data transfer rate 80 kilobits per second.


MMS: An extension of SMS which allows pictures, sounds or low quality videos to be sent on a wireless network. Long range data transfer.





WIFI: wireless broad band connection medium range network. The data transfer rate – up to 20 megabits per second. You can also contact several computers at once.    





Infrared: optical wireless communication uses LED’s to transfer data over a short distance. Data transfer rate – 155 kb/s IRDA protocol.


3G: access the internet via mobile broadband. Data transfer rate – 14.4 megabits per second.
